A few days ago, I was also to try out and review several products from Ecooda & KastKing. Both carry a wide range of fishing gear. I was also to pick out several spools of fishing line, as well as a baitcasting reel.
Ecooda Tiro Pro Series Caster Round Baitcasting Reel
I got the Tiro-50A Right Handed. It really looks like one of the reel that Jeremy Wade uses on River Monsters, which I think is really cool. This is my first time using a baitcasting reel, and I wasn’t too sure how hard it was going to be to use. It’s relatively the same as a boat reel, which I’ve used many times when deep sea fishing, but smaller & you can cast it out.
The reel itself is very nice & very high quality. It’s fairly easy to get the line attached and loaded. It held a good amount of 8lb test, which is perfect for all types of fishing. It took me a little while to get the hang of casting it without getting any backlash. It casts & reels in smoothly. My dad spent a better part of the morning yesterday playing with it & really liked it. It’s definitely a solid reel for a great price, and worth picking up. This particular reel is available on Amazon for $72.98 with free shipping.
Kastking Monofiliment Line
I got the 35lb, 328 yard blue monofilament line. It’s good for both freshwater & saltwater, bit it is primarily for saltwater. It’s very smooth, and it doesn’t stretch when it gets tugged on. I am definitely looking forward to using this on vacation. This one is $7.99 (+ shipping) on Amazon.
KastKing SuperPower Braid Fishing Line
I got the 30lb in green. This line is super thin, so it should easily worth with most reels. It’s strong & you can feel the fist a lot better than with other types. This is my preferred type because of that. It’s also very easy to cast. I’m planning on using it with the reel at the beach so that I don’t have to worry about my line breaking if I hook something big in the surf. It’s currently $4.99 (+ shipping) on Amazon, which is a great price since this is line can be fairly expensive.
KastKing World’s Premier Copolymer Fishing Line
I got the 12lb line in clear. It doesn’t have a lot of stretch in it, and can be used for both freshwater & saltwater fishing. I was using it to practice casting on the baitcasting reel, and it never snagged on any of the trees & rocks. Casting was very smooth. It’s $6.49 (+ shipping) for 330 yards on Amazon.
Overall, all of these products are great & are worth checking out. I’ll also be doing a followup review in about a week & a hlaf while I’m on vacation. We’ll be at the beach and I plan on doing lots of fishing, so I’ll share how everything held up to saltwater and big fish.
I received the above mentioned products for free to help facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own.
