A few days ago, I was asked to check out the new Make Up by One Direction Kits by Markwins. The makeup is designed to celebrate youth, style, and the uninhibited lifestyle of a new generation. The shades are bold and cheeky, and each kit comes in limited edition collectable packaging. The kits include the Electro Glam Mascara, Liquilights Glow Gloss, and the Rock Me Nail Kit.
The mascara can be used on both your eye lashes and your hair. The colors are Why don’t we go there- Shock of blue, Does he know?- Pinkest hot pink, and Story of my life- Amped canary yellow. I personally like the blue since it stands out better on my hair. It also washed out pretty easy when I washed my hair.
The nails polish comes in three shades: Happily– UV iced blue glitter, Moments- UV neon pink, & Diana- UV 3D holographic. There are also three accompanying glitter toppings as well: Kicks- UV snow cone blue, Not afraid- UV electrified pink glitter, and Star– UV holo glitter. The colors are very vibrant, especially the pink. I didn’t mess with the glitter much since I usually tend to make a mess trying to put it on my nails.
The lip gloss also comes in three shades; Through the Dark (electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light), Kiss You (orange glitter rush lip gloss that glows to neon yellow under UV light), and Taken (powerhouse glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon orange under UV light). It goes on smooth and stays put. I don’t normally like lip gloss since many of them feel very sticky. These were slightly sticky but it wasn’t uncomfortable to wear. I’m not really fond of the UV part, but I don’t think I would ever wear it to a place with UV lights to have to worry about it.
Overall, the makeup is very nice. The colors are bold and perfect for someone who is a fan of One Direction or likes to wear bolder colors. The kits were released on November 15, and are available at Macy’s, Dillards, Boscov’s, Stage Stores, Beauty Brands, and Lord & Taylor.
