July 18, 2014

The word “health” is such a broad word jam packed with so much meaning, don’t you think? Many people take their health lightly now days, but they shouldn’t be. In a world where obesity is becoming more common, diabetes is becoming a more life threatening illness and people are going deaf due to not properly taking care of their ear drums, something must be done. Of course not everything can be fixed all at once, but if you care about your health enough to do something about it, then perhaps this article can be your wake up call. The following tips should encourage you to take precautions now while you’re young and if you’re not so young any more, it’s never too late to take action starting now as well.

Take Care of Your Hearing

Your hearing is precious, which is why it’s very important that you take care of your ears. Start by using ear plugs or ear muffs when you are operating noisy yard tools such as snow blowers or leaf blowers. The same goes when you are vacuuming. Next time you are flying wear ear plugs because can also reduce the loud aircraft noise. It’s also important to turn your iPods down while listening to music and wearing protection at concert. Don’t allow music to be more important than your hearing.

If your hearing is already damaged go here for quality hearing aids that will help your hearing improve. However, even though you’re already wearing hearing aids, at any age it’s still important to care for your ears. Wear ear plugs, turn the TV down, and don’t listen to loud music. If you can’t hear yourself talk during a TV show then you know it’s far too loud. What’s more, since you already have hearing aids make sure to go to the doctor for a regular checkup to see if hearing things is more difficult.

Caring for Your Skin

More and more people are getting skin cancer from being out in the sun too much and not wearing enough sunscreen. Along with sunscreen you also can wear sunhats and long sleeves if you’re prone to get burned very easily. What’s more, not only should you be wearing and reapplying sunscreen daily, but you should also check your body regularly for suspicious moles and rough marks on your skin. If anything looks suspicious to you make a doctor’s appointment. Due to the sun’s powerful rays skin cancer is more prominent and it’s up to you to care for your skin.

Avoid Cell Phone Dangers

It’s quite controversial whether the radiation from cell phone towers can radiate through your cell phone and cause brain tumors, but to error on the safe side of caution here are some tips. First of all, use a headset or speaker phone to reduce any potential risk. One study shows that using a headset lowers radiation exposure eightfold. Next realize that your children have a thinner skull, and their brains are still developing, which can make them more vulnerable to harmful effects of RF radiation. Limit their time spent on a cell phone or don’t give them a cell phone until they are older.

One more tip is to not talk while you’re driving. Not only is a cell phone a huge distraction while you’re driving, but using your phone in different areas means your cell signal is jumping between wireless towers. Since RF is highest when the connection with a tower is initially established, talking on your cell while driving can increase exposure.
