Last week, I was sent a 8 inch Green Earth Textured Ceramic Nonstick Frying Panfrom Ozeri. The Green Earth pan is a super non-stick pan that you don’t need to spray or coat with anything. The nonstick coating is called GREBLON and is made in Germany, while the pan itself is made in China.
These types of pans have been advertised a great deal for a while now, and I’ve never gotten the chance to try one before. I was very excited since I don’t have any small nonstick pans. The two pans that I do have, a 12 inch and a griddle, constantly get food stuck to them and a have to coat them with something.
The pan it’s self has a good weight to it, and the handle is riveted on. The bottom of the inside has a grooved pattern, which also helps keep food from sticking. I decided to cook scrambled eggs in it, since that always seems to stick. I didn’t put anything in the pan other than the eggs; no butter or nonstick spray. I was worried that the eggs would at least stick in the groves, but I was wrong. As they cooked, the egg came right off the pan with no mess. Even once the majority of the liquid was cooked, it didn’t stick. I even turned the heat up to high and they still didn’t stick. There were just little flecks left once I emptied the pan, and it all wiped out with a paper towel.
Before I got the pan, I looked it up online. It is rated very high, but there were a few complaints. The major complaint was that the nonstick eventually wears out. However, I noticed that many of the people complaining said that they were using butter or oil when cooking, or started to once they noticed some food sticking. The whole point behind the pan is that you don’t have to use any type of oil, butter or spray while cooking so that you are eating healthier. Using anything like that is going to cause a buildup on the inside of the pan. A very simple solution is to spray the pan with oven cleaner, then make sure to wash it really good with soap. I do this with my cookie sheets and broiler pan. So if you do have issues with like that, try using the over cleaner. If that doesn’t work, the pans have a warranty so you can contact Ozeri.
Overall, I love the pan. It truly is the best nonstick pan I’ve ever had. It’s available on Amazon for $22.13 (+ shipping). The pan does have a warranty, so you can contact Ozeri if you have any issues. You can take a look at all the other products the Ozeri has to offer by visiting their website.
I received the above mentioned product for free to help facilitate my review.
