Owning your own business is great.  You get to make your own hours and you don’t have to worry about having a boss.  You would also have the freedom to run things how you see fit.  Supercuts, one of the top franchises to own, recently completed a survey to see who owns business.

So, who exactly is looking to start a business?  A thousand people with a net worth of over $200,000 were surveyed.  Over half of them, 56%, are planning on opening or starting a business.  They are either alone or with a partner.  25% are women who are looking to start their own business.  31% of them are looking going into business with a spouse or domestic partner.  30% of respondents are going into business with a friend, while 26% are going into business with a colleague.  The survey also found that women are more likely to start a business with a spouse or domestic partner than men.  To get more perspective on it, here is a chart:

Overall, it looks like all sorts of people open business.  As long are you have solid business experience, can implement and execute company strategies, and have a vision & desire to open multiple salon locations, you will go far with a Supercuts franchise.   Since Supercuts offers a needed service, you will always have customers, and you expenses are low.  Also, if you’re new to franchises, Supercuts has a great franchise information site that will give you all the info you need to get started.
