blah & bleh….

April 17, 2013

It’s been a very long week.  My cat Dudley had to be put to sleep on the 8th.  My mom had been concerned that he hadn’t been eating for a while, then he started loosing weight rapidly.  My parents took him up to the vet to get him looked at.  He’s usually attacking people left and right when he gets there, but he was unusually docile…so we know that he was really sick. After finding a large lump in his side, they drew blood and ran some tests.  They found that he had cancer and that there wasn’t anything that could be done.  He was only 11 years old and was the best companion anyone could have wanted.  We had him cremated, with part of his ashes being at my parents and the other being at our house.

I manged to get a few posts up before having to deal with the washing machine.  The outflow pipe was leaking again and we didn’t realize how much until we pulled everything out and found a very icky mess.  We are still working on trying to fix it temporarily…so I’m stuck doing very small loads.

After that was quasi delt with, we took the 4Runner up to get inspected and the morons there ran the wrong type of test on it.  They ended up tripping the engine light because they gunned the engine over 95 mph and, of course, cause it to fail the emissions test when there was nothing wrong with it.  They ended up causing a seal to blow on something, causing it to misfire every now and then.  I drove it to Mineola and back and didn’t have a problem with it, and Jason took it to get it worked on.  Everything is fixed & inspected, but the oxygen sensor needs replaced.  But that’s no big deal.

I have spent the rest of the week going through audio and video from the ghost hunt, and still haven’t made much of a dent in it.  I did find an awesome EVP that I’m going to put up on YouTube later and share it here.

I’ve still got a few reviews to get up pretty quick and some side work (book cover) to do.  We are going to the Heritage Jubilee on Friday to eat lots of roasted corn and other goodies, as well as shop at the booths.  I’m also going to see if I can win Hannah another goldfish.  Surprisingly, the one from last year is still alive and kicking.
