I was recently sent some pre-packaged weight loss food from Diet Doc. Diet Doc has a whole line of weight loss products that are all formulated to fit with an hCG diet. What is HCG? The food is said to come with everything already in it, so all you have to do is all in the meat. I got to pick three different meals: Steak Soup, Thai Chicken Soup & Chicken Gumbo.
I was interested in try this out since it’s supposed to be healthy and it sounded like it would be a quick and easy fix. However, that wasn’t exactly the case. When it arrived (two and a half weeks late), I was surprised to find that it was three pouches of some sort of seasoning mix that has to be reconstituted in water before use. Each pouch had an accompanying half-sheet of paper with cooking instructions and a list of ingredients needed. For the most part, many of the extra ingredients are stuff that you may have on hand, like chicken broth. Other stuff you will have to go out and get special. For example, the steak soup calls for low glycemic vegetables like broccoli & asparagus and makes and extra not to avoid the normal stew fixings of potatoes, corn and carrots. The thai chicken soup calls for coconut milk, plus you need to add in noodles. So, we ended up having to make a special trip to the store to get extra cans of broth & coconut milk.
After reading about the asparagus in the beef stew, my husband wasn’t about to try it…even after I told him I would just put the normal stuff in it since we had all that on hand. All three soups came out okay. I wouldn’t call them great, but they were filling. The thai soup was by far the best.
Overall, these are okay. If you are into the hCG diet stuff, then they would be worth checking out…if you’re willing to pay $4.99 a pouch. One week of food is $79.99 & and month sells for $259.99. Their salad dressing $11 a bottle & seasoning is $10 each. I think that is way overpriced, plus the ‘all included’ bit on the food pouches is a bit misleading. Their shipping leaves much to be desired as well. They told me they shipped on 11/3, but didn’t ship it out until 11/15. You can check out more Diet Doc’s products on their website.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Also, they said that we could have a giveaway but had to give them the email address of everyone who entered. As a policy, I don’t give out that info at all unless the company has to contact the winner directly, and only the winner. I don’t like it that they would require that of bloggers, so there won’t be a giveaway for this review.

I am doing this review as well for Tomoson and it is also against my policy to give out email addresses of entrants. I think its terrible they would ask for that for “marketing purposes” aka SPAM. I agree with you on the soups. They were mediocre. Bravo to you for caring about your fans/followers the way I do as well! I would love to have you come check out my ethical blog as well 🙂 Just search out “Saved By Grace blog” Have a wonderful day! (I didn’t want to spam your comments with my URL)
