A few weeks ago, I was invited to try out Firmoo, an online prescription lens and glasses provider. It is the world’s most popular glasses provider and they provide quality & fashionable eyewear at low prices. They also have a program where first-timebuyers can get their glasses for free.
After my last disastrous outingwith online eyewear providers, I was extremely leery about ordering anything from them…especially with the first-time buyer thing they have. I’ve learned over the years that when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Plus, the online feedback about the site isn’t all that favorable. But, I decided to give it a go.
One of the first things I noticed was how easy the site was to navigate. I easily pulled up the type of glasses I wanted and was able to quickly browse through them. I even used the photo ap on the sidebar to get a general idea of what the glasses would look like on me. The best part, for me anyway, was that you can select what you are going to use the glasses for. I just wanted fashion lenses without any type of prescription. After selecting that, I didn’t have to worry about all the lens info that I was forced to fill out on the other site. You also get various options for lens thickness, with prices ranging from free to $110 (note, this is just for the lens), as well as additional add-ons (tint/UV coating, ect…) ranging from free to $34.95.
About three days after I ordered, I was sent an email letting me know that the glasses had shipped and gave me a tracking number. Unfortunately, the tracking number didn’t work. After about two weeks, I was getting ready to contact the site to let them know that I hadn’t received them, then the glasses finally arrived in the mail. They came in a hard, clamshell case with a lens towel and assorted odds & ends to fix them should they ever need it. The glasses are very nice and look about the way they did on the photo ap.
Overall, this was a very pleasurable experience. I got a nice pair of glasses with no hassle, and I will definitely use them in the future. I don’t know what the shipping costs, but you can get free shipping on orders over $39. Plus, there is also the free pair you can get if you’re a first-time customer.
