Prefense Review and Giveaway [ENDED]

August 26, 2011

For the past two weeks, I’ve been testing out Prefense Foaming Hand Sanitizer. It’s silica based and contains no alcohol. It protects against staph, strep, E.coli, drug resistant MRSA strains, and more…plus, one spray lasts up to 10 hand washings. Since it’s made from natural ingredients, it’s safe for kids.  I’m always somewhat leery of using hand sanitizer, especially since my skin is very sensitive.  It doesn’t take much to aggravate it and cause either a rash or spontaneous peeling.  So, needles to say, I was a little apprehensive to use it.  However, I was truly surprised by this product.

First off, I noticed that it has no chemical smell.  In fact, it has no scent whatsoever…which is a huge thumbs up in my book.  I hate using stuff with a strong or weird scent unless it’s perfume or a particular type of lotion.  Second, there is truth to the statement that ‘a dab will do ya’.  The first time I used it, I pressed the plunger all the way down, which ended up giving me a large amount of foam on my hand.  I felt that was super overkill, so since then I’ve been just barely pressing on the plunger.  That gives me about a dime size amount, which is perfect for me.  Third, I’ve been using it once a day for the past two weeks and it hardly looks like I’ve used any!  The liquid level is still about where it started when I first opened it.  Even if you press the plunger all the way down, your barely using any…so it lasts a long time.  Lastly, it didn’t aggravate my skin like most other hand sanitizers do.  In fact, it made my skin softer.

Overall, I found Prefense to be an awesome product. It works well and it lasts you a long time.  I highly recommend it.  A 1.5 oz bottle will run you $6.99 (plus shipping) and gives you about 120 sprays.  The 8 oz bottle costs $16.99 (plus shipping) and gives you 640 sprays…which can last you about 2 years.  Also recently added is a combo pack: one tube of wipes and one 1.5 oz hand sanitizer for only $7.99.  You can purchase Prefense at their website or on Amazon.  They are also on Facebook and Twitter.

The Giveaway:
Prefense is giving away an 8 oz bottle to one lucky reader.  You must fill out the mandatory entry first, then you can complete the extra entries.  Make sure that you add your email address in each entry so that I have a way to contact you if you win.  The giveaway ends September 11, 2011.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

It sounds like it would be great to carry around in the diaper bag! No smell means it could be used when I have a migraine too!
