tips on creating a media kit?

Yesterday I was asked if I had a media kit for the blog.  I admit, I had to Google it to find out what it was since I’m still very new to the who advertising & PR thing.  I found several good templates and now I’m trying to cobble one together for future use.  You’d think that since I am a writer I’d be able to crank it out real fast…but it’s not as easy as it sounds.  At this point, I’m open to any suggestions or help anyone could give.
