Product Review: Pampers Swaddlers

September 15, 2010

While in the hospital after Hannah was born, we were provided with Swaddlers. I’ve always thought of Pampers as being a very good brand, being that it is usually the first name you think of in diapers. However, I was sorely disappointed after using only a few diapers.

The diapers were not absorbant at all.  Everything seemed to run right out the sides and back no matter how sung you make them fit.  Hannah also developed horrible diaper rash almost immediately after the first diaper was put on. Her entire bottom was red, as well as her front, and she was sore to the touch. It only got worse with each changing. Not even Desitin helped. We were stuck using them for about 3 days until I was discharged from the hospital. Once we got home and started using Huggies, the rash went away after about 12 hours.

Since then, Pampers has come out with the new Dry Max which has been causing extreme diaper rash with infants that almost look like chemical burns. I’m not sure if the Pampers at the hospital had the Dry Max or not…and quite frankly I don’t care to find out. I absolutely will not use them ever again.

Pros:

  • can get coupons mailed to you

Cons:
  • diaper rash
  • leaked
  • expensive
