Crappy day yesterday

March 18, 2010

Well, I attempt to go to two different doctors yesterday morning and had no luck.  I spend most of the day yesterday waiting for my regular doctor to call in a prescription for my supposed poison ivy outbreak, which turned out to be steroids…which he knows I’m allergic to.  I then went to the emergency car clinic in Forney and they told me that it was an allergic reaction to the current medication I was taking for the supposed leg infection, and they sent me to the emergency room.

Some poor guy ended up spending over 45 minutes trying to find a vein to get an iv in.  Upon giving up, he called in a nurse.  She proceeded to flip the bed up so I was hanging upside down, like one of those Teeter Hangups, and stuck the iv in my neck.  Yes…my neck.  MY FRIGGEN NECK!!!  I’d rather have them cut my hand open with a rusty nail before I ever go through that again.  It hurt like hell…and I couldn’t move my head.

As it turns out, the infection in my leg is actually a delayed allergic reaction to what they gave me for the uterine infection.  The doctor at the emergency room suggested I find a more competent doctor, and gave me a better steroid prescription saying that I had to take them because it is the only thing that will clear everything up.  The main reaction I have is hallucinations…so I have to have someone around with me all day to keep an eye one me.  🙁
