Product Review – Dr. Frederick’s Original Bunion Pad & Spacer Kit

July 8, 2015

Dr. Frederick's Original Bunion Pad & Spacer KitA few weeks back, I was asked to try out and review Dr. Frederick’s Original Bunion Pad & Spacer Kit. The kit comes with 4 pairs of cushions; the Standard Shield Spacer, Standard Spacer, Sport Shield Spacer, & the Sport Spacer. They are made from super soft flexible gel & go between your big toe and the second toe.

Each set comes in its own resalable bag & comes with a card that tells you what each set is and pics to show you how to wear them. All of them can be worn with or without shoes, and the double looped spaces are designed to keep the spaces from slipping while you’re running.

I’ve tried all of them on and they are very soft & comfortable to wear. It takes a little while to get used to wearing them. My left foot doesn’t really need to shield, but needs the spacer since my toes are more squished together than they should be…so I wear the standard spacer or sport spacer. My right foot doesn’t need the spacer as much as the shield, so I usually switch between the two shielded spacers depending on what I’m doing.

The shield has really helped on my right foot. It doesn’t rub on the inside of my shoes anymore & has felt a lot better. The spacer on the left foot bothered me when I first started wearing it, since it was forcing my toes apart. While it still bothers me from time to time, it’s gradually gotten better. It will probably be a while before it matches my other foot though.

Overall, these spacers really do work. They are comfortable & stay in place. The pack is available for $18.99 (+ shipping) on Amazon.

I received the above mentioned item for free to help facilitate my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.
